Hi, my name is Jaco Greeff and I'm a yo-yo addict. Hi, Jaco!
I think I'm way too old to be yo-yoing (being a 1973 model), but really still enjoy it. I guess I took the normal route of starting when I was really small as part of the Cola-Cola Russell craze that swept South Africa in the 1980's, gave it up for a couple of years (grew up??!!) and then returned to the scene after buying a YoTech while doing month-end shopping with the wife. This experience went something like this: What? You want a what? And you want us to pay how much for that thing? In hindsight she should have tried to argue a bit more since we ended up with a house full of yo-yos, some even worth really crazy amounts.
Well, as time went on I became more frustrated due to a lack of local talent and became actively involved in the starting the local scene, which has been a long road. Eventually I even ended up making these little buggers (even more yo-yos lying around everywhere) - but for all these boring bits I guess you can refer to the official non-emotional description.

I like wikis, trying for every opportunity to advocate the use of one. (When you have a hammer, everything tends to look like a nail...) I don't like seeing unfinished things. And I don't like seeing a resource that can be used widely and add a lot of value not doing so. So seeing the potential I wanted to contribute, hopefully by doing so more people will be attracted. Success breeds success, or so they say...
With this in mind, look for edits and the addition of new things all over the place, I'll start at a point, make things workable to the best of my abilities and then move along to the next batch of edits. Where you do see spelling and grammar mistakes, please feel free to edit and help out. Although English is not my first language (and judging by postings everywhere, neither is it for 90% of the on-line world) I can string a sentence or two or three together - where mistakes do crop in, it is usually due to my two-finger-typing.

According to Special:Contributions/Jaco I started editing stuff on the wiki at 19:51 (local time) on 20 January 2006. Initially I mostly concentrated on Category:Manufacturers but have expanded my horizons all over the place.
At 18:31 on 7 May 2006, I made this edit which was my 1,020th edit out of a total number of 4,392 edits on the Wiki. Which means that approx 23.22% of the total edits seems to be mine - add another 20% of edits for people fixing my grammar, spelling and typos and I seem to make too much noise...
