US Original Wisonsin State Contest

The Original Wisconsin States is a contest in Burlington, Wisconsin that is run by Judith Schultzs. The contest has been running annually for over ten years.

A contoversey arose in 2004 Anthony Jerving started a yo-yo contest at madfest using the National Yo-Yo League (NYYL) rules for seeding to a regional contest. That contest would technically be the "state" contest. However Judith had been calling her contest the state contest for a lot longer and objected to the idea of having to change the name of her contest. So Judith wanted the state title for her contest and Anthony wanted the NYYL seed to Mid-West Regionals so they agreed on calling the contest Judith ran the "Original Wisconsin States" and the contest Anthony ran the "Official Wisconsin States". And that is how it continues today.
