Team Losi Cherry Bomb
From YoYo Wiki
The Cherry Bomb by Team Losi is a bright red butterfly shaped yo-yo with a small ball bearing and a starburst on both sides. It has an adjustable string gap, that can be widened by simply unscrewing the halves slightly. I have not weighed it, but it is very light. It comes with two black plastic weight rings, and even with them it is not really heavy. Gotta repair my precision scale. :-)
It has a light reponse, and returns easily. Together with its low price, it is certainly a good beginners yo-yo for string tricks. If you hit your hand or head, its low weight is a real advantage.
I played it with a slick six string and liked it that way.
A major con is the relatively soft plastic, which makes the starbursts wear out after a few weeks. So unless you are into modding your equipment, the lifetime of the Cherry Bomb is quite limited, especially if you are into hard throws. Another con is the string gap, which easily goes out of adjustment, as it solely depends on the friction of the axle screw.
If you are looking for a relatively light ball bearing yo-yo, you should also look at the RD-1 by Tom Kuhn, whose response system is superior in my opinion. --HB 06:26, 1 Oct 2005 (PDT)
Note: The Cherry Bomb with weight rings comes in at 49.25 grams on my scale. I didn't even bother weighing it without. --Faux 11:14, 8 April 2006 (PDT)
