The Over Mount is the opposite mount of the Under Mount. It is one of the most basic mounts in yo-yoing. It is also the starting point for a Frontstyle Bind.
You can get into it using the method described below. Other ways are
- to pinch the string with your free hand and bring your throw hand around the front bringing the string into the gap
- from a Ripcord
A great way to practice the Over Mount and Under Mount is the trick Over and Under.

Step 1: Bring your free hand finger against the string and pull back, so that the yo-yo comes... | |

Step 3: ...and jumps into the string from the front. | |
