Mo Chavez

Maurice Chavez, more familiarly known in the yo-yo community as Mo, is a yo-yo modder and three-time winner of the modding competition at the World Yo-Yo Contest (2001, 2002, 2003). Drawing on substantial machining experience and a background in auto and motorcycle customization, Mo has developed many unique hybrid yo-yo designs with an emphasis on extreme playability. He has had significant design input on several YoYoJam models, including the MiniMotriX, MaxiMo and Mini-MoTu.
Mo lives in the Los Angeles area, where he is a founding member of DXL Crew. In 2005, he was awarded the National Achievement Award at the US National Yo-Yo Contest.
