Man on the Flying Trapeze

The Man on the Flying Trapeze is the first sidestyle mount you will learn. Although the mount itself is simple, there are many complex tricks that can be done from a trapeze.

It starts with a breakaway, the yo-yo is rotating clockwise (anti-clockwise for left-handers). Let the yo-yo swing left and against the left index finger.
Let the yo-yo swing around the finger...
... and land it on the string.
The final position should look like this:

To get the yo-yo back to your hand, the most simple way is to pull both hands apart, catapulting the yo-yo upwards.
At first you keep the string taut with your left hand.
When the yo-yo is high enough, let the string slip from your left index finger and the yo-yo will return to your right hand. This dismount is called a flyaway dismount.
