West Uranium is the first yo-yo released by Black Cement in 2006, it is also the first ever high-end Chinese aluminum yo-yo. This yo-yo is made for beginners and has a cheap price, because Black Cement wants all Chinese players to try what a high-end metal yo-yo is. West Uranium has thick walls and roundish shape, no matter how many times you drop it on the floor, only a ding or scuff is left on the yo-yo and it still plays like a new one. In addition, O-ring weights are provided with this yo-yo, so players can set it the way they want.
When a yo-yo is threw to sleeper mode, it will have a slightly wobble till the string calm the yo-yo down or time pass away. Soft materials such as rubber can decrease all kinds of wobble, so that West Uranium used silicone o-ring as response system and large o-ring as weights. Not that many people will recognize that, but Black Cement did.
Interesting point to note: When it was first released, some people think that the yoyo is designed by Nick (the owner of the Taiwanese skill toy store "Wonderful Yo-Yo World"). In fact, Nick is only helping Black Cement, making the yoyo available in market outside China.
Approximate 100 pieces were made, mostly sold in Mainland China.
