Duncan Freehand 2edit this page

From YoYo Wiki

After the mold broke for the Duncan Freehand 1, the Freehand 2 was introduced as a substitute. Many considered it an inferior replacement, and because of this demand, the Duncan Freehand Zero was produced. The original mold of the Freehand 2 appears to be similar to that of the Duncan DragonFly/Pro-Yo Turbo Bumble Bee GT.

The original release of this yo-yo came with rubber o-rings for an adjustable gap and rubber weight rings. Then they stopped packaging them with o-rings but included thicker bearing spacers. This gave the yo-yo a fixed gap. Then, in 2005 a new mold was created that added slightly more plastic to the center of the yo-yo and more plastic to the rim. With more plastic on the rim they stopped including the rubber weight rings. The older FH2's seem to play better than the newer ones.

The Freehand 2 was my first modern yoyo. It is a simple plastic weighted yoyo that spins fine for begginner freehand players. The stock duncan bearing is not of the highest quality. Once the bearing is cleaned and broken in; hovever, this yoyo will play fairly well. The price on these can be moderately cheap. Sleap times will be about 30 seconds, so, complex tricks are possible, but very difficult to time.
